Dr. JiWon Choi is a nursing researcher and Associate Professor of Nursing at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Choi’s research focuses on reducing health disparities by promoting lifestyle modification behaviors, specifically, physical activity in vulnerable populations including Asian American family caregivers of persons living with dementia, Korean immigrant women at risk for metabolic syndrome, women with young children, and overweight/obese pregnant women.

Wen-hsin Yeh, UC Berkeley

Distinguished Professor, History She/Her/Hers I am a historian of late imperial and modern China and the Chinese maritime. My current project, on maritime China, explores the following: a) Chinese constructions of the maritime as domains of sovereignty and territorialization; b)Chinese diaspora and the cultural constructions of de-territorialized Chineseness; c) the transformation of Taiwan as a site where the diverging trends and the geo-strategic dynamics intersect.
